Overview
It is common for customers to receive a tracking number and see a tracking status of:
Label Printed
or
UPS Awaiting Package
without any additional updates immediately afterward.
In most cases, this is completely normal and does not indicate a problem with your shipment.
Why Does This Happen?
Unlike typical small-business shipments that are individually picked up each day, Electro & Company bike shipments are processed through our Southern California warehouse in bulk.
Once your order is fulfilled:
- A shipping label is created
- Your tracking number is generated
- Your bike is prepared for shipment
- The bike is loaded into a large outbound shipping container with other shipments
At this point, the tracking number has been created, but UPS may not have physically scanned the package into their network yet.
When Will Tracking Start Updating?
Tracking updates typically begin once:
- UPS picks up the outbound shipping container
- The container arrives at the UPS Distribution Center
- UPS unloads and scans the individual packages
This first scan is often when customers begin seeing movement on their tracking number.
Is My Bike Actually Shipped?
In most cases, yes.
If you have received a tracking number and your order has been fulfilled, your bike has already entered the shipping process.
The lack of tracking updates usually means UPS has not yet performed the initial package acceptance scan.
How Long Can This Take?
Because bike shipments move through a warehouse fulfillment process, it is normal to see a short delay between:
- Tracking number creation
- First UPS tracking update
This delay can vary depending on:
- Pickup schedules
- Warehouse volume
- Carrier processing times
- Time of week
When Should I Contact Support?
If your tracking number has shown:
Label Printed
for only a few days, we recommend allowing 2-3 business days for UPS to receive and scan the shipment.
If there have been no tracking updates for an extended period beyond normal processing times, please submit a support ticket and our team will be happy to investigate.
Summary
Receiving a tracking number before seeing movement is completely normal for bike shipments.
Your bike is typically already packaged and staged for shipment. Tracking updates usually begin once UPS receives, unloads, and scans the shipment into their distribution network.
We appreciate your patience and are excited to get your bike delivered and ready to rip!
