How long does it take to charge my battery?

Charging time depends on your battery’s capacity, measured in amp-hours (Ah), and your charger’s output, measured in amps (A).

To estimate charging time from empty, use this formula:

Battery capacity (Ah) ÷ Charger output (A) = Approximate charging time in hours

Example: E&C ETM RTR 72V 25Ah battery

ChargerCalculationEstimated time from empty
Stock 5A charger25Ah ÷ 5AApproximately 5 hours
Upgraded 12A charger25Ah ÷ 12AApproximately 2 hours

These are estimates, not guaranteed charging times. A battery that still has charge remaining will take less time, and charging may slow as the battery approaches full.

Can I use a faster charger?

A higher-output charger can reduce charging time, but it must be compatible with your battery’s voltage and supported charging current. Only use a charger approved for your specific battery.

If you need help estimating your charging time or checking charger compatibility, contact our support team with your product model, battery capacity, and charger output.

Warning: Do not exceed your battery’s maximum rated charging current.

Using a charger that delivers more current than your battery is rated to accept can cause overheating, permanently damage the battery, and create a risk of fire or serious injury. A charger is not necessarily safe to use just because its connector fits.

Before using a higher-output charger, confirm that both its voltage and charging current are approved for your specific battery. If you are unsure, contact our support team before connecting the charger.
