NOTE:
- The new harness has a black ring terminal to the B- and a red ring terminal to the B+, please check your bike first to confirm if you need to proceed with the Service Bulletin
- The old harness only has 1 single red ring terminal, if your bike only has 1, please proceed with the Service Bulletin to replace the main harness
- Customers who have upgraded to the 6+7 Kit do not need to proceed with this Service Bulletin
Part 1: Removing the old accessory harness and main harness
- Remove battery from Rizzler
- Turn key on, this will discharge any stored energy from the controller to ensure it is safe to work on
- Remove controller cover to access the back of the controller
- Pull from the center of the side of this panel, you should feel it pop loose from the top and then unhook it from the bottom
- Once you have access to the controller, we will be removing the Rizzler Main Harness
- Unscrew the battery leads using a PH2 screwdriver, remove the B+/Red and B-/Black battery leads from the controller
- Now we should be able to remove the main harness completely from the bike
- Disconnect the 3 black Amp Superseal Connectors
- 2 - pin: Key Switch
- 3 - pin: Display
- 6 - pin: Throttle
Disconnect the 2 pin 2.8mm connector from the Accessory Harness
- Disconnect the main 14 pin connector from the controller, note the orientation of the connector reinstallation. You will have to depress the retaining clip to pull the connector to disconnect it.
- Disconnect the 3 black Amp Superseal Connectors
- At this point, the main harness should be completely disconnected and can be removed. Please dispose of this harness, it will no longer be needed.
Part 2: Installing the new accessory harness and main harness
- Connect the main 14 pin connector to the controller, ensure the connector is properly oriented, you should feel the retaining tab click in place.
- Connect the 3 black AMP Superseal Connectors
- 2 - pin: Key Switch
- 3 - pin: Display
- 6 - pin: Throttle
- Connect the 2 pin 2.8mm connector to the Accessory harness.
- On the battery lead terminals on the controller you will be stacking the battery leads, new accessory harness ring terminals as well as the single red ring terminal from the main harness
- Order from first onto controller to last
- On B-/Black
- Battery Lead black
- Accessory Harness black
- Tighten using the PH2 bolt set aside from earlier
- On B+/Red
- Battery Lead red
- Accessory Harness Red
- Single Red Ring Terminal from main harness
- Tighten using PH2 bolt from set aside from earlier
- On B-/Black
- Both bolts should be torqued to approximately 7 ft/lbs
- Order from first onto controller to last
- Neatly tuck the main harness and accessory harness so that you can reinstall the controller cover without pinching any wires
- You may use some zipties if desired for cable management
- Install the controller cover, this panel hooks into the bottom rail and will then clip onto the top rail
- Some force will be required to get the panel to snap in place.
