1. Remove motor from bike
2. Remove the motor sprocket from the shaft *Note the motor nut is reverse thread, righty loosey, lefty tighty*
3. Using a PH2 phillips screwdriver, remove the 4 screws from off the end cap.
4. With a flat head or a punch, identify the section fins that are widest allowing you to access the inside of the front (Sprocket side) endcap. You will need to gently tap the flat head with a hammer to break the adhesive seal that seals the end cap to the motor body
5. Once the seal is broken, you should be able to slide the front end cap off the rotor
6. From here, you should be able to pull on the rotor to extract it from the body
- Inspect the inside of the rear end cap to see if the bearing left with
the rotor or is still in the end cap
- If the bearing left with the old rotor, then make sure to put a new
bearing on the new rotor. If the bearing stayed in the end cap, then no
need to put a new bearing on rear of the new rotor
7. Install front bearing on the front of the rotor, rear only if applicable based on step 6
8. Inspect the wires to ensure that nothing shifted during removal of the old rotor
9. Install the rotor
- WARNING: the rotor is magnetic, when you slide the rotor in, it will be
met with a quick and swift sucking in of the rotor. Watch your fingers
to not get pinched
10. Install the front end cap, make sure to orient the motor mount holes correctly with the rear end cap
11. Install the new PH2 motor mount screws included in your kit
