How to Upgrade Your 60V Rizzler: The Best Builds for Power, Range, Dirt and Stunts

Your 60V Rizzler already rolls out with serious mini-bike energy: up to 5,000 watts of max power, three selectable power modes, a hot-swappable 60V battery and a chassis built for cruising, trails and stunt sessions.

But we know how this goes. Once you start riding, “stock” rarely stays stock for long.

Whether you want harder launches, a complete 72V power build, better dirt traction or a more capable stunt setup, we have several direct-fit upgrades for the Rizzler. The best path depends on how you ride, how much performance you want and whether you plan to retain the stock controller or move to our TruMoto system.

Here’s how we recommend upgrading your 60V Rizzler.

Path 1: More Torque With the Stock Controller

High Torque Mod Motor and Mod Motor Tune Service

If you want a noticeable performance gain while retaining your stock battery and controller, we recommend pairing the High Torque Mod Motor with our Mod Motor Tune Service.

The High Torque Mod Motor is a direct-fit upgrade designed to work with the stock Rizzler controller. Its larger rotor and stator, thinner laminations and higher-grade materials improve efficiency, response and thermal performance.

The result is more bottom-end pull, smoother power delivery and a stronger launch without turning the rest of the bike into a major project.

One important distinction: the High Torque Mod Motor does not increase the stock controller’s kilowatt output. Instead, it produces more torque per amp, making better use of the power your stock system already delivers.

The motor also has a higher temperature ceiling than the stock motor. To unlock that additional thermal capability, you must purchase the Mod Motor Tune Service.

The tune updates the factory controller so it can take advantage of the High Torque motor’s higher temperature limit. This allows you to push the bike harder before the controller begins reducing power to protect the motor.

For that reason, whenever we recommend the High Torque Mod Motor as an upgrade, we also recommend the Mod Motor Tune Service.

This path is best for:

  • Stronger launches
  • Better hill-climbing performance
  • Technical trail riding
  • Stunt riders who want more immediate low-end response
  • Riders who want to retain the stock controller

Important Compatibility Note

The High Torque Mod Motor is not supported by the TruMoto 6+7 Powertrain Kit.

If your end goal is a 6+7 build, do not purchase the High Torque Mod Motor as an intermediate upgrade. Plan your build around the Rizzler-compatible Mod High Speed Motor instead.

The Mod Motor Tune Service is also not used with the 6+7 kit. The 6+7 kit replaces the stock controller with a TruMoto controller, and the TruMoto app allows you to select a pre-tune designed for your build.

Our verdict: For more torque while retaining the stock controller, install the High Torque Mod Motor and complete the Mod Motor Tune Service together. This is a separate upgrade path from the TruMoto 6+7 system.

Path 2: The Full 72V TruMoto 6+7 Build

If you want to move beyond the limits of the stock 60V system, treat the conversion as one coordinated build—not just a battery swap.

For a Rizzler 6+7 build, we recommend this order:

  1. Choose a compatible 72V Upgrade Battery.
  2. Select the Rizzler configuration of the TruMoto 6+7 Powertrain Kit with the Mod High Speed Motor.
  3. Use the TruMoto app to select the correct pre-tune for your build.
  4. Confirm that your charge port, charger and display settings are compatible with 72V operation.

Step 1: Choose Your 72V Battery

Our 72V Upgrade Battery fits the 2026 Rizzler and is available in two configurations.

72V 35Ah Mod Battery

The Mod pack carries approximately 2.5 kWh of energy, uses Samsung cells and weighs about 30 pounds. It is designed for high-output builds while keeping weight lower than the Touring pack.

Choose the Mod battery if acceleration, agility and high-power riding are your priorities.

72V 45Ah Touring Battery

The Touring pack increases capacity to approximately 3.2 kWh and weighs about 40 pounds. It provides the greatest range, with the tradeoff of approximately 10 additional pounds.

Choose the Touring battery if your priority is longer rides and fewer charging stops.

Both packs are rated for 250A discharge, use a replaceable QS8 discharge connection and support high-rate charging with the proper compatible equipment.

Battery, Charge-Port and Charger Compatibility

Check the following details before ordering:

  • Rizzlers equipped with an XT60 charge port require an ETM RTR Charge Port for compatibility with the upgrade battery and charger.
  • The original 60V charger is not compatible with a 72V nominal battery.
  • You will need the correct 72V charger.
  • Verify that your battery connections and charging equipment match the product listings before installation.
  • Your display settings may need to be updated so the battery state of charge is shown correctly after converting from 60V to 72V.

Step 2: Install the TruMoto 6+7 Powertrain Kit

The TruMoto 6+7 Powertrain Kit is our top-level Rizzler performance upgrade.

The kit replaces the stock controller with a TruMoto controller and gives you access to the TruMoto app. From the app, you can select a pre-tune designed for your motor and build. You can also adjust power, torque, throttle response and regenerative braking.

Because the 6+7 kit includes a TruMoto controller with its own tuning system, do not purchase the Mod Motor Tune Service for this build.

The 6+7 system is not recommended for a 60V setup. Upgrade to a compatible 72V battery first.

With a Mod or Touring battery, the system is rated for up to 13 kW of combined output. Actual performance will vary with the selected tune, gearing, rider weight, terrain and battery state of charge.

Rizzler Motor Compatibility

For a Rizzler 6+7 build, select the Mod High Speed Motor offered with the TruMoto 6+7 Powertrain Kit.

The following motors are not compatible with the 6+7 kit on the Rizzler:

  • Stock Rizzler motor
  • High Torque Mod Motor
  • Revolver motor

If you already installed a High Torque Mod Motor, do not add a 6+7 kit to that configuration. Contact our team before purchasing so we can help you select a supported powertrain combination.

Our verdict: This is the path for experienced riders who want the Rizzler’s maximum performance potential. Plan the battery, TruMoto controller, Mod High Speed Motor, charger and charge-port requirements as one complete system.

Path 3: Upgrade to 72V While Retaining the Stock Controller

If you want to upgrade to a 72V battery while retaining the original Rizzler controller, use our 60V-to-72V Controller Reflash Service.

This mail-in service recalibrates the factory controller for a 72V power system. It improves voltage tapering, allows proper use of the battery’s capacity and maintains more consistent performance as the charge drops.

You must own a compatible 72V nominal battery and provide proof of purchase. Once the factory controller is tuned for 72V, it must not be used with the original 60V battery.

Using a 60V battery with a controller that has been tuned for 72V can result in:

  • Failure to power on
  • Undervoltage faults
  • Erratic or unstable operation
  • Potential controller or powertrain damage

A controller still configured for 60V may power up with a 72V battery, but it will not have the correct voltage tapering and may shut off abruptly at a low state of charge. We strongly recommend completing the proper reflash.

This service applies only when retaining the stock controller. It is not part of a TruMoto 6+7 build because the 6+7 kit supplies a replacement TruMoto controller.

If you include the High Torque Mod Motor in a stock-controller build, we also recommend the Mod Motor Tune Service to unlock the motor’s higher temperature ceiling. Contact our team so we can help coordinate the required controller services for your complete configuration.

Path 4: Build Your Rizzler for Dirt

Rizzler Knobby Dirt Tire

Our Rizzler Knobby Dirt Tire replaces one street tire with a deep, aggressive tread designed for dirt, gravel, loose surfaces, ruts and climbs.

The Rizzler uses tubeless wheels. We recommend using tire sealant during installation to help seat the bead and protect against minor punctures such as goat heads.

Each product listing includes one tire, so order the appropriate quantity for your intended setup.

Complete Rizzler Knobby Dirt Wheel Set

If you want the easiest conversion—or the ability to swap between street and dirt setups—the complete Rizzler Knobby Dirt Wheel Set is the better choice. It includes knobby tires already mounted on Rizzler wheels.

That gives you:

  • Faster setup changes
  • No need to remount tires whenever the terrain changes
  • More traction and control off pavement
  • The option to keep a dedicated street set and dirt set

Both the individual tire and complete wheel set are designed specifically for Rizzler bikes. They do not fit the ETM RTR, ETM V2 or Razor platforms. The product listings also specify that they cannot be returned.

Our verdict: Choose individual Knobby Dirt Tires for the lowest-cost dirt conversion. Choose the complete Knobby Dirt Wheel Set for convenience and easier terrain changes.

Path 5: Build Your Rizzler for Stunts

Rizzler Stunt Pegs

The Rizzler already includes swingarm peg mounts and a foothold behind the seat. Our direct-fit Rizzler Stunt Pegs complete that setup with a secure place for your feet during wheelies and combo riding.

They are available in multiple colors, allowing you to add function and match the rest of your build at the same time.

For a stunt build retaining the stock controller, we recommend pairing the pegs with:

The motor improves low-end response, while the tune unlocks its higher temperature ceiling. The pegs provide additional positioning options as your skills progress.

Remember that the High Torque Mod Motor cannot later be paired with the 6+7 kit. Choose between the stock-controller High Torque path and the TruMoto 6+7 path before purchasing your motor.

Practice in a controlled area, wear appropriate protective equipment and build your skills gradually. More torque changes how quickly the front end responds.

Our verdict: For a straightforward stock-controller stunt build, combine the Stunt Pegs, High Torque Mod Motor and Mod Motor Tune Service.

Path 6: Add More Control to a Stock-Controller Bike

RTR/Rizzler Mode Switch Locker Bundle

Not every upgrade needs to make the bike faster.

The RTR/Rizzler Mode Switch Locker Bundle overrides the standard three-mode selector to limit the available power settings:

  • The Mode 1 Locker keeps the bike entirely in Mode 1.
  • The Mode 1 and 2 Locker permits the first two settings while locking out Mode 3.

Only one locker can be installed at a time.

The Mode Switch Locker is compatible only with the stock Rizzler controller. It is not compatible with the TruMoto controller supplied in the 6+7 kit.

This is a smart addition when a less-experienced rider may use a stock-controller bike. It can also keep a curious friend from selecting full power before understanding how quickly the Rizzler responds.

Our verdict: This is the best control-focused addition for shared stock-controller bikes and developing riders.

What About the Replacement Street Tire?

The Rizzler Replacement Street Tire is primarily a maintenance item rather than a performance upgrade. It restores the Rizzler’s original pavement-oriented setup when the stock tire becomes worn or damaged.

Choose it when you want predictable street behavior and do not need the additional bite of a knobby tire.

Our Recommended Rizzler Builds

Best Stock-Controller Power Build

This combination provides more bottom-end torque and unlocks the motor’s higher temperature ceiling. It is not a stepping stone to the 6+7 kit.

Best Off-Road Stock-Controller Build

This build combines better off-road traction with stronger bottom-end pull and the High Torque motor’s higher available temperature ceiling.

Best Stock-Controller Stunt Build

The motor and tune improve low-end response and thermal capability, while the pegs provide additional positioning options.

Best Stock-Controller 72V Build

This path retains the factory controller and remains separate from the TruMoto 6+7 system. Contact our team so we can help coordinate the controller services required for this configuration.

Best Range-Focused TruMoto Build

The Touring battery is our range choice, but it adds weight compared with the Mod battery.

Ultimate Performance Build

The High Torque Mod Motor, Mod Motor Tune Service and stock-controller Mode Switch Locker do not belong in this build.

Build for the Ride You Actually Want

The best Rizzler upgrade is not automatically the most powerful one.

If you want more bottom-end torque while retaining the factory controller, pair the High Torque Mod Motor with the Mod Motor Tune Service. The tune is required to unlock the High Torque motor’s higher temperature ceiling, so we recommend the two together every time.

If dirt is calling, change the tires before chasing more kilowatts. If range is your priority, build around the Touring battery.

If your goal is the TruMoto 6+7 Powertrain Kit, plan for that path from the beginning. The Rizzler 6+7 build uses the Mod High Speed Motor—not the High Torque Mod Motor—and does not use the Mod Motor Tune Service.

Before ordering, confirm your Rizzler model year, battery voltage, charge-port connector, charger and intended motor/controller combination. If you are unsure, reach out to our team. We would rather help you select the right parts before the build than troubleshoot mismatched components afterward.
